No matter which plans you align with, one thing is for sure: you could use the right playlist to make the season even sweeter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is where our \u201cFall Breakers\u201d playlist comes in \u2013 the Imaginary Gardens team has put together a mix of jazzy beats and fall melodies for your enjoyment. Adrianne Lenker\u2019s reedy lyrics overlay the signature sound of her bandmates Buck Meek and James Krivchenia, and the song channels the sorrows and beauty of fall with&nbsp; lines like \u201cThe trees on fire, the rivers flood\/And all the banks are soaked in blood,\u201d and \u201cBeauty speak to me\/Let me know, let me see.\u201d It\u2019s an aching eulogy for joys found and lost, evoking the falling leaves, the dying light, and the cooling days of autumn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Addison Chrivia, Editor<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cRagtime Lullaby\u201d by Harry Nilsson<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This song has been stuck in my head for about three weeks and is what got me into Harry Nilson\u2019s music. It\u2019s such a lovely and calm song that incites a nostalgia for childhood naps; the imagery in it is sweet, setting you in a rowboat slowly sailing away to dreamland, with the waves gently rocking you to sleep. If you enjoy this song I highly recommend exploring Nilsson\u2019s other music, as he explores a wide range of genres and sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Reese Bunch, Staff Writer<\/em>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cAutumn\u201d by Couch and Jackson Lundy<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>A track littered with falling leaves, nostalgia for past years, and a beautiful melody tying it all together, \u201cAutumn\u201d is a wonderfully crafted song by Couch, featuring vocals by Jackson Lundy. It\u2019s a great way to kick off fall, and can harken back to past falls that have been tinged by nostalgia. I highly recommend putting this song on during a crisp fall morning and enjoying the wonderful fall weather, all while thinking back to past years and hoping for a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Draven Copeland, Editor-in-Chief<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cTogether\u201d by Nine Inch Nails<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve never said anything to anyone about this song because it\u2019s one of the more niche tracks I listen to \u2013 at 10 minutes long with no lyrics and minimal production (at least as far as Nine Inch Nails\u2019 discography goes), it\u2019s a hard one to recommend unless you\u2019re looking for dreamy relaxation\/ambient vibes. I\u2019ve genuinely written some of my best creative work in my life (including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imaginarygardens.org\/index.php\/2025\/08\/27\/endling-part-i-a-visit-from-an-old-friend\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.imaginarygardens.org\/index.php\/2025\/08\/27\/endling-part-i-a-visit-from-an-old-friend\/\">Endling<\/a>) while listening to this song and the rest of <em>Ghosts V<\/em>; it evokes so many strong emotions for me, which is definitely helpful for putting together whatever art you may be in the process of creating. If you\u2019re looking to study, create, or have a chill introspection session, this is a great track to put on for background or foreground ambience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Jackie Ayala, Writer<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cSilver Lining\u201d by Laufey<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Laufey\u2019s jazz-filled love song reminds me of an early fall morning drinking a cup of coffee or a late date night with a loved one, signaled by the lyrics \u201cDrowning in red wine and smelling cinnamon.\u201d It\u2019s the type of song that would be played in a movie, where two lovers are walking around Central Park. To me, this song brings the perfect ambience for a night of studying in a coffee shop and brings to mind that someone you love the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Rebecka Jones, Contributing Writer<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cCherry Blossom\u201d by Joshua Basset<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This sweet, romantic song talks about seasons changing and growing up too fast. The mention of falling, autumn, and sundresses gives it a cheerful fall vibe, and the beat&nbsp; is just right, not too slow or too fast. It\u2019s just perfect for more cheery fall vibes.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>James Cochran, Photo Editor<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cSailing\u201d by Christopher Cross<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Yacht rock is a nice blend of jazz and soft rock, so pretty much any yacht rock song deserves a spot in any relaxing playlist. The lyrics \u201cAnd if the wind is right you can sail away, and find tranquility,\u201d really speak to me as it\u2019s kind of a reminder to just relax sometimes and give yourself a break.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Bean Gast, Staff Writer<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cThe Truth\u201d by Handsome Boy Modeling School, R\u00f3is\u00edn Murphy, J-Live<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This song IS Fall\u2013the season of color, death, and grief\u2013the air is crisp but chilling. Fall is genuine and continues to inspire me to sit with my grief, to feel the chill, and embrace it. I find that every Autumn, when the leaves fall, the truth emerges. \u201cThe Truth\u201d is both beautiful and ugly; the background instrumental contrasts with Murphy\u2019s warm and comforting voice as she carries the chorus. The rap is raw, reminding me of 90\u2019s rap, and like fall, makes me feel reminiscent of past times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Amelia Williams, Staff Writer<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cMy Castle Town\u201d by Toby Fox (from <\/strong><strong><em>Deltarune<\/em><\/strong><strong>)<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>A few weeks ago, I put out a review on the site about the game <em>Deltarune<\/em>; this song from its soundtrack is absolutely relaxing and I love listening to it. It gives off a good autumnal theme with the piano and such, and I hope you enjoy the rather unusual songs I stuck in the playlist, as I\u2019m not one for listening to mainstream artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Emma G. Harrison, Editor&nbsp;<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cWonderful Tonight\u201d by Michael Bubl\u00e9 (with Ivan Lins)<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you ever had a song that just makes you feel so warm and fuzzy you want to cry? Well, that is how this song makes me feel. The warm jazz tones and the sweet, simple romantic lyrics make this a must listen for me in the fall season. Originally done by Eric Clapton, Bubl\u00e9 adds the jazzy feel, accompanied by some Portuguese lyrics done by Lins, making for a smoother, laid-back production with Brazilian influence. The song is a simple ballad in which the narrator sees his partner getting ready and, in that intimate moment, admires her, loves her, and expresses how she \u201clooks wonderful tonight.\u201d Overall, this song expresses love and appreciation in the overlooked, quiet moments of life.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Kiera Tempel, Contributing Writer<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cTake Flight\u201d by Alice Phoebe Lou<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Alice Phoebe Lou is a singer\/song-writer that doesn\u2019t get enough credit for the amazing music she puts out. The thing I love best about her, other than her brilliant singing voice, is her ability to match any feeling and any season. \u201cTake Flight\u201d especially gives me the imagery of walking through the park as fall-colored leaves blow by me. It\u2019s great to listen to while you study, read, or walk through campus!
