{"id":3136,"date":"2025-11-05T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imaginarygardens.org\/?p=3136"},"modified":"2025-11-04T16:27:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T21:27:09","slug":"snow-not-ice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imaginarygardens.org\/index.php\/2025\/11\/05\/snow-not-ice\/","title":{"rendered":"snow not ICE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By Bean Gast, Staff Writer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">in the year 2003<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">a small boy named Alejandro<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">saw snow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">the first snow he had ever seen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">not ICE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">but snow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">whimsically wisping through the trees&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">falling where everyone could see<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">speaking only in his native tongue<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">the small boy could barely believe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">his eyes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">reflecting the mere surprise<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">while his classmates scrambled to the window<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">to catch a peek<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">soon to realize&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">this would be<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">a monumental moment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">could it be the American dream?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">sharing opportunities of pure joy and whimsy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">the snow said \u201cWelcome to America\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">until I melt and freeze<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">turning to ICE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">lurking in shadows where no one can see<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">OPEN YOUR EYES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">and you can see ICE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">a hazard in plain sight<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">watch where you walk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">because you could slip and fall<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">the seasons will cycle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">from autumn, to winter, to spring<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">and to the HOT summer day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">when community will bring the heat&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">to melt the ICE before our feet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">rejoicing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">plunging into the puddle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">admiring&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">DEFEAT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"675\" height=\"1200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.imaginarygardens.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Image-min-675x1200.jpeg\" alt=\"A grand tree stands strong amidst a snow storm.
