autumn brings the truth
life both vibrant and bleak
truth is becoming the tree
courage is letting go
grief within each leaf
falling from high places
floating descent
graceful grief
[change my mind]
changing to die
colors of joy
knowing the end is near
bright red today and brown the next
the crow calls
rustling in the leaves
playing in grief
acceptance is jumping
into the pile of decaying leaves
the death plummet
bottom of the pile
body against Earth
fully submerged
forget to breathe and suffocate
breathing while buried
is resilience
become the resistance
resist the urge
to pull the leaves
from their hiding place in your hair
[sit with it]
content is leaves in your hair
dirt beneath your fingernails
and the willingness to care
Autumn grieves
Winter weeps
Spring starts anew
today we Fall
[that is okay]
