mouth agape, the tension leaves
blurred blob of vibrancy
until
I look at what’s looking
and see me
focused and clear
a magenta slug appears
eyes are a portal
seeking a soul to search
only to find a mirror
the ultimate test
a staring contest
revealing that we are
one
the spirit of the slug calls to me
entering through my open mouth
it consumes me
