carving holes into the beets
always leaving a trail
bodies molded by clay and carved by bark
brown, copper, cheetah print
blue-blooded freaks
who appeal
to me
a gruesome death lies ahead
sliced in half with scissors
chopped in two with an axe
smashed with a rock
by humans
