For all the nerds out there, this photo essay is for you! Orlando, Florida is home to the Mega Convention (MegaCon), an epic annual convention packed with everything you love – from exciting panels to awesome meet-and-greets with your favorite actors, plus next-level cosplay everywhere you look, it’s a full celebration of nerd culture. The creativity and craftsmanship on display are truly next-level. And to prove this, here is a countdown of the 10 best cosplays seen at MegaCon!

The Throwback

When it comes to cosplay, it’s hard to beat the classics: Star Wars, Star Trek, all the fan favorites. But every now and then, the spotlight shifts to the spinoffs. Some of you might remember the 1987 sci-fi comedy Spaceballs, a parody film of the Star Wars series. This unusual cosplay is a fun way to put a fresh, creative twist on a classic.

Cosplay isn’t just for fans of movies and comic books, it’s for gamers too. Many people dress up as characters from Fortnite, Halo, Assassin’s Creed, and even Mario! As one of the oldest gaming franchises, Mario is a true classic. If you love characters like Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, or Toad, then a Mario cosplay is just what the doctor ordered.
