  • Here Now, Gone Later
By Amberia Shoemaker

Unexpected but inevitable endings,
Even though things unknown
Surface without warning
Fighting through silence
All while keeping peace within.
She flutters like a beautiful white cloud,
Careful and familiar.
Whitney sends her away,
As she tears us from fantasy.
Leaving her was easy,
Letting her go gets harder.
We hope that she is happier,
Cleaning with her father.
