In a dominant ball game this past Saturday, the Pellissippi Panthers baseball team crushed the Lumberjacks with an impressive 10-0 score, bringing the league’s Run Rule into play after scoring so many runs over the opposition.
This was a refreshing victory for the Panthers, who have now broken their three-game loss streak. After the first two innings, everyone in the crowd could sense what the outcome of this game would be.
The Panthers performed exceptionally during their match as they kept a steady pace when it came to pitching and at-bats. The first two innings were a good showing of the Panthers’ skill, but the innings to come were nothing short of spectacular. The third inning was quick with three strikeouts and one run to complete the inning. Jacob Daniels, #17, scored an impressive two RBIs (Runs Batted In) in the fourth, setting the stage for the Panthers to score an unbelievable five runs in the same inning, solidifying their lead upon the Lumberjacks, the score at 8-0.
The Lumberjacks were visibly rattled, unable to find their rhythm as the Panthers continued to dominate on both sides of the field.
Going into the fifth inning, Daniels, pitcher, struck out the sides, allowing the Panthers another opportunity at runs. Daniels was third up at bat, scoring two more RBI’s and securing the home win for the Panthers four innings early with a run rule.
By the time the final score was recorded, the Panthers had proven themselves to be an impressive team, this victory seeming to be a turning point for their season. With this win, they hope to build momentum as they prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Combine Academy Goats on the 11th.
